Tyler, the Creator and ASAP Rocky have shared a new song called “Potato Salad.” They rap over Monica’s 2003 song “Knock Knock,” which was co-produced by Missy Elliott and Kanye. It arrived as part of Rocky’s new 48-minute AWGE DVD Vol. 3 video, which dropped on the creative agency’s website tonight. The freestyle was filmed in Paris and features a cameo from Jaden Smith. Watch “Potato Salad” below or stream it on AWGE starting around the 6:30 mark.
Producer Danimal continues his remix spree with A Tribe Called Quest inspired remixes to two of last years biggest trap hits. Both remixes recently found on his external hard drive are unmixed and unfinished but still display a clear enough picture of his remix vision, combining- in his words -“things that aren’t supposed to go together” Danimal meshes sounds and samples from 1993 with Trap vocals and stars who weren’t even born during that particular sound and era. Tay K’s “The Race” is turned into “The Chase pt.3” for all (most likely reluctant) Tribe fans (lol) and The Migos ft. Lil Uzi Vert ‘s “Bad And Boujee” is given a Jazz makeover with a heavy dosage of Boom Bap and break beats.
After the success of The Internet’s 2015 breakout album Ego Death, it would have been easy for the group to let the expectations of a follow-up weigh them down. Instead, they each took the time to work on solo material and release projects of their own.
Once they did get to work on their fourth studio album, Hive Mind, the group approached it at their own pace—in several locations around the world. “We rented houses and studios all over the world and just lounged around, no pressure,” Syd explains on Reddit. “The last few sessions in Australia were some of my favorites. We made the last 3 tracks on the album there. Such a vibe.”
Speaking on their cohesiveness as a unit, Matt Martians recently explained the meaning of the album’s title. “A hive mind is a collective ego,” he said. “When people are together, they have a collective mindset. When we’re together, we all have a common goal and we move in the same direction.

Chance the Rapper said he would be releasing an album within a week, when he performs at the Special Olympics concert in his hometown of Chicago, but then changed his mind and updated fans via tweet. Instead, late Wednesday he offered up 4 new tracks in place.
Earlier in the week, the rapper teased a follow-up to his amazing Coloring Book album. “I’m excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics,” he told the Chicago Tribune. However, the next day, Chance tweeted, “Sorry no album this week, def been in the stu[dio], tho.”
