A combination of rock, pop, indie and R&B allow the California trio, HAIM, to create one of the most distinctive mainstream sounds in recent years. With their status as a full-album band, it doesn’t surprise us that their albums chart higher than any of their singles.
Haim made their mark in the industry for the first time when they opened for Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour.
They recently announced the dates for their Sister, Sister, Sister world tour on their eccentric Instagram page. The symbiosis of the three sisters, Danielle, Este and Alana Haim, comes through in all that they do from their vocals, harmonies, unique electronic sound and even their playfulness on social media. Grabbing a drum and breaking out into jam is nothing out of the ordinary during their live shows.
Diversity is evident in this band’s music and their sound shuffles between 70s rock and contemporary R&B. Their songs express personal emotions about love, relationships and vulnerability and promote support to female empowerment in the industry.
If you are a pop junkie looking for something with a little more edge, HAIM is a definite must-listen. It won’t be easy finding another band like this in 2018.
