MASTIV’s fiery resurgence ‘Apocalyptic Solace’ is symbolic of their stunning journey. Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada and formed in 2008, their current offering is a beacon of light sent to cut through the current fear and loathing in a time where ‘our leaders have betrayed us,’ and ‘the apocalypse is near’. With a Mad Max mash-up of their signature Metalcore, Thrash, Trance, Hard Core, and Metal ‘Apocalyptic Solace’ arrives in numerous fiery forms. Each mix expands and contorts the track, stretching an already high energy single to the edge of every possible existence. Determined to march forward lead singer Steve Thiriot continues honoring lost original member Lance Isbell who passed away suddenly in 2015 due to a heart attack. The journey to this point for MASTIV was filled with peaks and valleys. Extensive touring in 2012 following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘End Of Silence’ (2011) lead to line-up changes and hiatuses. They opened on tour for their heroes Fear Factory in 2012 as well. Throughout all the successes and setbacks Steve Thiriot maintained his tunnel vision. “I can’t let this band die, I need to make sure Lance is never forgotten”. Steve reached out to the other original members Chris Whitney & Chris Meyer in another attempt to bring the rest of the band back together in 2016. While they’d both moved onto other commitments, their blessing to move forward was fully secured.
MASTIV is: Steve Thiriot (Vocals), Jason Hughes (Lead Guitar), Josh Gregory (Rhythm Guitar), Nikki Rangel (Bass) and James Hoover (Drums). With supreme confidence & capabilities, the band is now creating their most crushing material to-date, completely dialed-in to the sound, scope, and vision for MASTIV’s music, career, and direction. Currently in the production for their upcoming 2021/2022 ‘Embrace Brutality’ album the release of the single ‘Apocalyptic Solace’ is a monumental release. Each version is equally both distinct and similar. An overall tone and atmosphere of pure energy and rage in each offering, the track begins mellow and implodes into an organic fireball that crescendos into a crash of anger, rage, and pure passion- all elements symbolic of the ingredients used to catapult MASTIV’s career up till the present day and beyond.
