Texas-born artist, Willie Nelson, whose actual birthday was incorrectly recorded by doctor, celebrated his birthday twice today, and yesterday. The Abbott native celebrates his birthday twice a year due to the fact of being born on the heels of midnight on April 29, 1933. His birth date, however, was only registered at the courthouse on April 30. Nelson was singing in honky tonks by the time he was 13 years old thanks to his parents who bought him his first guitar at the age of six. He was already writing his own songs by the time he turned seven. The singer’s musical career took off after serving in the Air Force. Rolling Stone paid honour to Nelson’s birthday on their most recent cover labelled “The Weed Issue”.
Celebrating his new albums, ‘From A Room: Volume 1 and Volume 2, Chris Stapleton recently announced his All-American Road Show Tour. Show dates include stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden, The Forum in L.A. and Chicago’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre. Marty Stuart and Brent Cobb will be featured as guest artists and audiences will even be spoiled with appearances from The Eagles on few of the dates.
On April 15th, Stapleton won three awards at the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, taking home the award for best album and male vocalist of the year. The artist and his wife also became parents to twins making the evening even more special.
Stapleton’s next stop will be in Daytona, Florida on May 5th and will be ending his Road Show Tour at The Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore MD, on the 4th of November. Tickets are on sale online and interested fans should act fast as a large number of shows are already sold out.
