Today, 55 years ago, Ella Fitzgerald’s bluesy, brassy version of ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ became the first Beatle’s rendition by another artist to hit the UK charts. Originally written by Paul McCartney, the song was rearranged by Frank DeVol for Fitzgerald’s 1964 album, ‘Hello Dolly’.
