Sam Art’s latest EP ‘Reflections’ kicks off with the lush and dreamy track ‘To Sleep’. Her falsetto floats above an atmospheric piano melody, distant percussion, and warm bass. Fuzzy guitar feedback dissipates into the background as the proceeding track ‘Time To Part’ begins to expand. The whimsical mood continues with a sing-a-long chorus that pushes through mid-song in Sam Art’s signature vocal delivery. Her poetic lyrics sprinkle each track, a unique approach to every subject. ‘Fell To Earth’ concludes the project and teeters between soft, mellow, mute and strong, upbeat, and uproarious. The push and pull between these two energies make for a stand out anthem on ‘Reflections’. The most somber mood is ‘Lovers Potion’ making the entire EP feel like a spacious lucid dream, Sam Art stamps the entire project with a sonic soundscape that is tangible as well as an ever present happy hallucination.
